Where can i check for liens on a house?

i am trying to search and see if someone has a lien on their home.

Answer:
Depending on where you live, I'm in Florida and can check on line for public records. I go to my local clerk of the courts web site then look under public records and search by name or address. You can also ask a title company to do it, but they will more than likely charge you to do that. Good Luck KG
You have a couple options - either request a lien search at the county clerk's office or have a title company do the search for you. The title company will charge you a fee but that way you'll be sure that all liens were found.
title company
The title.
county Clerk office
County recorder office.
Depending on what state you are located at, you can go to the county recorders website.
