Will someone tell me which cities in Vermont are the closest to the Green Mountains area? Thanks.?

I particularly would like to know which cities or towns near the Green Mountains actually have a few jobs in it. I realize that these rural areas generally lack these, so I would like to know where in this area I would have a fighting chance at getting a job as an outsider who has never lived in this area. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:
If you're going to live in Vermont, you need to learn to think outside the box. It's a wonderful place to live, but a tough place to make a living. Find a town that is great to live in, then put down roots. But bring along your own way of making a living, because even if you start by getting a job with a local company, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to keep the job or that the company will even stick around. The best solution is to find a way to make money from sources beyond Vermont while living in Vermont.
