I don't have any credit is it still possible to rent an apartment?

I want to move to New York at the beginning of '07 and I was just looking for a little help from you all. Thanks!

Answer:
It is possible but don't surprised if you are asked for a larger deposit. Most apartment owners will work with you unless you live in a "hot area" where there are waiting list to rent. If it's NYC you may have a little more trouble but they are out there.Good Luck
Yes,they want your money but don't move till you have a place set up for your self . Good luck on your venture and God Bless..
Yes, but you'll most likely need a co-signer (that's someone you know who has better credit than you, like your parents, that can, well ask someone exactly what a co-signer is, I can't figure out a good way to word it.
You have to have good credit to rent an apartment in NY? Boy am I glad that I live where I do. They don't do credit checks for rent here.
In many cases, having no credit history is better than having a bad one. I assume you will have found a job by the time you move to NY. Meet with several apartment managers. Tell them that you have a good job and would not cause troubles as a tenant. There are ways to get things like that done. However, people must see that you are trustworthy. Good luck to you.
