How can I find out if the house I'm currently living in was used as a meth lab by the previous tenants?
Answer:
It would also permeate from the walls and ceiling as well as the floor if it was caused by Meth production. Contact your local plice agencies and find out if the property was involved in and raids or seizures related to drug activity. They could also suggest a possible chemical test to see if meth chemicals were present as well. If it's just the carpet, it is unlikely it was Meth. Cats do tend to choose one area, but multiple cats roaming the house unchecked will choose different areas from the other cats.
ask a neighbor
Best thing to do is fumigate your home.I doubt if you will ever find out if your home was used for meth lab.you could try the police dept.or check your library for old newspapers on any raids on your home in the past
it's most likly they were cat people who were somwhat untidey, but ask a few neighbors, I am sure you can find some answers there. Look to see if there is or are anyf unny pinkish, orange or white cakey residue around tubs or olld trash containers.
In our state, all homes used for meth labs (must be documented by official report-I think is police) MUST have a hazmat cleaning-at the owners expense, before it can be rented out again. Some are actually condemned and torn down. please check your local authorities for your area regulations.
