A house is sold during a forclosure sale by mistake, what recourse does the owner have?

Answer:
Sue the foreclosing lender for damages and/or try to rescind the sale. You need to talk to a lawyer at this point.
Actually (in Florida at least) an owner has up to 45 days( not totally sure about this period will need to check) after the foreclosure to pay off his mortgage debt and fully recuperate his ownership.

That's what those scams Tv ads forget to tell you in their buy a house for $500 messages.
