I'm going to win the lottery this week, and I'm not sure how much to spend on a house before I invest.

I reckon on winning 14M GBP, I've already started dipping into my overdraft on the strength of this forthcoming win..should I keep a few million 'liquid' for everyday spending, or pretty much invest nearly the lot?

It depends on where yo live, but you should be able to do okay with $500K. You'll want to finance anyway. Home interest is the country's best personal tax write off.
