How can get a $25,000 grant from the Government without paying it back?

Answer:
Government grants do not work that way.

The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. Grants are not given for personal purposes such as paying bills, buying a car, or getting out of debt. Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.

For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant.

There there is a stringent review process through a committee. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.

Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.

Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
Join the military. They will pay you that much in salary, and you will never have to pay it back.
No.. Not unless it is for a charitable company or for school .
Join the military and get shipped to Iraq and lose a limb or two and maybe they'll pay the medical bills.
Grants don't have to be repaid which is why they are called grants. However, they are usually given to people who demonstrate a need for the funds for a specific activity or program such as going to college, developing an invention, or financing a non-profit organization. Still, grants exist for all kinds of things. You'll just have to find someone who knows about them and how to research for your particular area of interest.
Girl, I know what you are going through, believe it or not, I am looking for the exact same thing, or basically as much help as I can receive from the government or anywhere else to go to school seeing I am a severly underprivileged person, I am borrowing someone's internet to do this, by the way, I've never paid for my own.but anyways, I digress, back to the subject, if you have a small amount of chump change lying around you can do your/some research on the internet and see if that will help. What I find is the least confusing and most easy way to do it is to go to www.google.com and put in some search key words dealing with grants, like for example "grant opportunites", and see what they give you, and see what comes up. if that doesn't work however keep trying combinations of words until you find something that will find you the best website for you in search of these grants.I am trying it now and I am getting some luck, but on very limited funds sometimes it still can be hard. You know, the thing is, most websites will send you a cd on their grant opportunities, but want you to pay the shipping and handling which could be like $3.00-$5.00. But anyways, in any event, pleaseeeeeeee please let me know what you find out, you wouldn't believe the things I am going through and I am in the same need as yourself, if not perhaps much worse off as a whole in life.you can find my question in society and culture, under languages, because I want to go to school for Spanish, I already know it pretty well, but I want to see if I can go to school for it, do something with it, and study abroad perhaps one day has always been my dream since I was little, around 13 years old.
