Then you need a Perodua mini-car, which is priced few thousand pounds in the UK.
Perodua cars are well known in the local market (Malaysia) to consume very little petrol because they have low cc engine and a light body. Their drawbacks are inferior quality compared to others.
Other mini-cars cost higher but with better quality.
A Saturn may work nicely. They don't get dents and get good gas milage. I had one for a while and it was very nice, now my sister has it.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A LOW PRICED CAR OF ANY KIND. I WOULD SUGGEST A HONDA IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE DRIVING IN THE CITY ONLY A CIVIC WOULD BE ALL YOU NEED AND THEY ARE GREAT CARS LAST LONG TIME.
Are you sure you want a 'NEW' car? The most depreciaition happens in the first 2 years. You get alot more for your money by buying a 2 year old car with low mileage. You can even still get a warranty.

And if you mean a new car with less than 100 miles on it or a new .. used car..
I'd suggest a Nissan Altima. Great on gas, sleek, easy maintence.
Also a Kia Optima is a great car. Dodge Stratus could be a great choice. Ask some dealerships about "Program Cars". It will cut thousands off the regular price. Also if you're in a bigger town you could look up different auctions, like police auctions to find unbeatable deals. Hope this helps. Good luck.
