Am I eligible for public housing?

Hi, I'm a 19 year old college student supporting myself for the most part, however, I still live with my parents but I pay rent though. I really do not get along with one of my parents and if I could afford it, I would have gotten my own place a LONG time ago. I work full-time and I just paid my tuition and I'm paying off my car. I realize that regulations probably vary from state to state, however, would I be eligible to get public housing assistance if I were to move out?

Answer:
Go into a housin office and fill out a form, it will depend on the amount of income you earn, but what have you got to lose. Put your name down they will put you on a list and when you are asked to look at a house they will assess you then, you could have to wait years. It is worth the wait. Good luck
just lie like the rest ( or don't work and have a baby that will get you to the front of the line ) TO BE SERIOUS you don't qualify in any state
yes
Why dont you suck it up and stay with your parents or find multiple room mates to share the expense. Save public housing for the homeless mother-of-10 moms who refuse to work and expect the states to pay for their housing. They need it more than you. Are you crazy, mooching off taxpayers because you dont like your parents? And then asking the general TAXPAYING public for their opinion. Oh, geez....
It never hurts to ask - go to public housing assistance, although I think it would be tough if you can afford to pay off a car, and you have a job.
it looks like your making too much money! you can go to apartments that make you list how much money you make. I'm sorry you have to be really poor to be accepted into any program. Call township, city, county, and other offices. Make sure you have enough money to pay for all expenses. You will make it!
Most likely you wont be eligible for the housing but it doesnt hurt to try..reason being is because there are unwed mothers with young children who would have preference over you. They may be able to assist you in paying part of your rent though. If you want to attempt it go and fill out and application or see if they could mail one out to you, fill it out and get on the waiting list at least. You may qualify for partial rent payments or maybe even more.I used to have housing assistance but no longer do.
