Any advice about ING Direct?

I was thinking about opening up an acct., but have never dealt with it before. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Answer:
they are pretty good but they don't have a highest online saving rate, emigrantdirect does it with 5.15% and hsbc has 5.05%. ing currently is 4.35%.

hsbc took longer to transfer money

you can go to bankrate.com to find out who has the highest rate
It's a reputable company. you just need to decide if this is the right one for you to use.
Been with them for over 5 years. Great place to park your money.you can create little side-funds and name them for specific saving goals - a feature I like for ear-marking my money for this or that.

Transfers from any bank to and from and pretty speedy. Usually they offer the best rates to be found for savings and CD's.

Citibank is getting into online banking with a 5% savings rate, so check them out as well.but be sure that is the going rate and not some special six-month deal. ING Direct is currently around 4.75% for CD's as short as 90-180 days!

It just make sense to maximize every penny, then I would definitely recommend them.
what exactly do you need to know? i've had ING for a little over a year and have had no problems.. great place to put your emergency savings in.. you can link it directly to your checking acct.. it's fdic insured.. etc..

savings rate is currently at 4.35%

only minor drawback is it takes a little over a day to transfer funds from checking to savings and vice versa.. but it's not too big of a deal
