Credit Union Question??
Answer:
I doesn't matter what type of financial institute you go too, they are gonna pull up the outstanding loans. It's a new program that's out to help banks see their potential customers past. They will pull up every thing u mention here and things you might not have mention. Credit unions work with their customers a little more then a regular bank, so you might have a better chance with them. I would just go in and tell them straight out that you had a few problems in the past, but you want to start fresh. Tell them before they go and start running reports. They will see that you are trying to be honest and be much more forgiving then if you go in and act all surprised when they find your dirty laundry. I have worked for both a bank and a credit union, and I have had the customers come in and act like they didn't have any financial problems. I really was annoyed and didn't feel like really helping them at all. I also had people come up and say they made some mistakes. Needless too say I help those types of people much more and was much friendlier then the people who were faking.
No, they don't check your credit unless you are taking out a loan.
yes
The one I work for would not check credit to open an account. However, when we ran you through Checksystems and saw that you owed other institutions money, we would have to deny you.
Your best bet is to pay off the charged off accounts and the payday loans. Then you can open an account and work on raising your credit rating with installment or secured loans. Remember, your payment history is the biggest part of your credit score. Paying regularly can fix your score faster than any other method.
