It depends upon your skill set. If you can type there are many companies that will pay per word. If you can programme, take a look at the Careers section in your local paper, and ask the Recruitment manager if the job can be done at home.
Do not, though, reply to rich widows in Nigeria who want to give you zillions!
To be honest with you there are more scams than legitimate jobs found on the internet. There are some jobs you can do from home that are legit. I'd love to help you but don't want to put too much info out and be "spammed". I will say that I have two jobs I do from home. If you find something legit and you comit to it, it is possible. I too was looking for a way to supplement my income so after careful researching I decided to join a company called Global Domains International. Their website is really easy and most of the marketing is done for you.
The best thing about GDI was that I did not have to do any direct selling and the cost was almost nothing.
