A question for Americans..?

How much is minimum wage in the state your in? Please give state also. I thought it would be nice to compare. Thanks.

Answer:
I live in Missouri, and the minimum wage here is $5.15 per hour.

This Dept. of Labor website shows the minimum wage in each US state:
http://www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/america.h.
$5.15 in Oklahoma, unless you are a waiter/waitress. Then, it's $2.13.
$5.15 -Nebraska
$ 7.50 / hr. Oregon.
5.15 fl
Around $6.75 or so now.in California.

http://www.dir.ca.gov/iwc/minimumwagehis.
$6.75 - massachusetts
$7.63/hour Washington state
$5.15 or $2.13 if you are wait staff. OH
I've added a link to the U.S. Department of Labor.

It lists out every state and the minimum wage laws and rates

paz840 beat me to it lol.
Around 6.75 in california...
$7.63. WA

We have just as many "poor" people as anywhere else.

They'd still be poor if they were making $20 an hour.. It's a mindset, a behaviour that keeps people in poverty.

I propose that the new minimum wage should be $39.50 an hour. WHY NOT?

Minimum wage laws are capricious and arbitrary.
PA=$5.15
