Is an online payment a wire transfer?

Right now I pay for my credit card online, and I am considering finding a money market account with a higher interest rate. I have found examples of accounts with generous interest rates and APYs, but there is a hefty fee for a "wire transfer."

What exactly is a wire transfer, and does an online payment such as an online credit card payment from a money market account count as a wire transfer?

My current account does not charge any fees for paying my credit card balance directly online from the money market account, but I'm trying to find a new money market account with a better rate.

Answers:
No. A credit card payment is an ACH transaction. It is not considered a wire transfer by any banks. You should be fine as long as the company does not have any per check or per transactions limits (with money markets some have transactions limits, so just make sure about that before you sign up).
