I wanted to know if you owe the irs money and are planning on consolidating your debts can that be included ?

I have called the irs to ask them but they don't answer their phone I was put on hold like for an hour and got tired of waiting for them to answer. So if anybody could answer my question I would greatly appreciate it

Answers:
Only if you can get a loan to consolidate. If not, then a consolidation company (they negotiate with creditors to lower interest rates, waive late fees, etc...) will not be able to help. I suggest looking into the IRS form...start with 656 (Offer In Compromise) and 9465 (Request for Installment Agreement). You can also hire a tax attorney to do this...there were lots of commercials for that service in March and April.
No. The IRS debt can't be consolidated. If you get a loan and pay the IRS debt in full, that works and some call that consolidation.
Usually on a consolidation loan...it is to "consolidate your debts like credit cards, unsecured loans and past due other debts like car payments etc. The lender doesn't require an inventory of debts. You take a out a loan to cover "all" debts. It is unsecured or Secured..depending on the lender and the amount of the loan.

Therefore, I believe that the IRS would be included as a debt and thereby a consolidation loan would and could be used to help you.
