Can you back out of bankruptcy after signing. is there a time limited?
Our problem started when we need help with our finances and we went to seek help. When we did this. We were told by ob Whillans at credit counseling that we had different options. We were advised that we didn’t have to go bankrupt. We could do a consumer proposal. We were then directed to see a trustee. On December 7th we met with a trustee to discuss what we thought was a consumer proposal. Within minutes the trustee decided there was no other way out but to go bankrupt. My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief. Then the papers came out to be signed. It was like we were in a world wind. Every thing happened so fast. Then they asked us to write out 7 post-dated cheques each at 196.43 dollars. That was 16 cheques we wrote out . Here it was December 2005 and we didn’t have much money but we were asked to write out two cheques of two hundred each by the end of December. I ran out crying. we are still in debit trustee took money.
