I issued a personal well fargo check to my sister in LA and up to now she still has it. i kept on reminding her to encash it before it expire or before i forget that i issued such amount. i dont want to pay NSF charges or to have a bounced check on my file... is there a certain check life from the date of issue before it become null and void?

its either 90 days or 6mos..not sure
Usually its 6 mo but that may have changed since the last time I looked into it. I think it all depends on the bank too. Call your bank and find out.
