Can i get a bank when i have a poor credit rating?

when you open a bank account, they dont check your credit.
i have poor credit and it has never been an issue for me.
it will only be an issue if you try to get a credit card through that bank.
You will still be able to get an ATM/Debit card for your checking account though.
I would go to washington mutual. so far that is the only bank i have been to that doesnt have a lot of fees or service charges.
