What do you buy the man who has everything?

My brother is very rich and a very successful business man who wants for nothing. He has everything he wants and can buy anything he wants. I on the other hand are struggling to pay my bills each month, but he has worked very hard for his money and employs me and pays me well. I admire him so much.

In December he is 40 and I really want to buy him something very special. I have 6 months to save. I am willing to spend about £250.

Any ideas would be greatfully received. Thanks.

Answers:
Buy him an original painting. You could get very lucky at art college degree shows, just buy one that you really like. It will be a one-off, and you can also negotiate the price with the artist.

It may be that the painting and artist fade into obscurity, but if your brother really likes the painting then that won't matter. On the other hand, if the artist becomes known, then the painting will increase in value.

Red stickers beside an artwork indicate that that particular piece has been sold.

Good luck!
Does he have any hobby? I'm sure he will be very happy if you buy him some accessories related to his hobby.
For example, if he likes taking photographs, buy him an infra-red converter. It's cheap, but that's not the point.
Or if he likes driving fast cars, buy him that shiny ball thingie that cheats police radars. Sure it doesn't actually work, but it's cool to have one.
If you'd like more suggestions tell us what's his hobby.
Thats a tough one i must say. How about something from the heart. If you are creative you could make something for him.
Or better still how about organising a family photo with parents kids (you get my idea) & get it framed. Take him out to a family dinner & a concert .

Goodluck:)
Nothing. Give him a big kiss...and be happy.

.
you could adopt him an animal from WWF website or something similar, very novel and for a good cause, an indian goat or cambodian elephant? or you could use the money to fund a water well in africa have a look at the charitable sites that you think would catch his attention.
why not make a short music video of him, using some pictures of him over these years, and input some words that you wanna tell you and plus all his favourite songs :)

i mean $$ can buy lots of stuffs but am sure its more meaningful when you create something which you cant buy off the shelf out there :)

your brother is a lucky man cos he got a great and thoughtful sis like u to make sure he gets great gift on his very bday!!

enjoy!!
Just show him your love as a sister. That of a family's love and respect for one another is priceless, and can never be bought or lost and misplaced.Love last a lifetime Family,Friends,or otherwise.
A lesson in humanity & humbleness is all the gift you BOTH need.

Take him to work at a homeless shelter for the day, or at the local humane society, or senior citizen center to see how the other half lives in today's society.
If he employs you & pays you well as you say, there should be NO reason for you to be struggling to pay bills each month.
Twelve minutes ago and still nobody has suggested penicillin for the man who has everything - I AM surprised ! HOWEVER, how about an engraved pewter mug for him - that way, if he drinks he can have it hung, ready for use, in his favourite pub, and if he doesn't, it's a nice little 'ornament of thanks' for his bookshelf. Don't make the message too complicated - just something simple like "To a wonderful Brother on his 40th birthday". As a lot of people seem to say nowadays, hope this helps ! ! !
Hi,

Do not rush into buying anything now.Just make a list and before dec you will make up your mind.
A SMALL PICTURE OF WHEN YOU BOTH WERE LITTLE IN A 4X6 INCH CRYSTAL FRAME ENGRAVED " THANK YOU ", WITH A TINY RUBY [ GOOD QUALITY - RUBY- IS FOR FORTY YEARS ] IN PLACE OF THE LETTER "O" . GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND PLEASE WISH YOUR BROTHER FROM ME . HE SEEMS TO BE A GOOD MAN.
I think a man who has everything may not have one thing: a present that somebody made for him exclusively. For example, if you can knit, you could make him some very personalised winter knitwear (a jumper, a hat and a scarf all matching). Or you may want to try your hands at pottery at your local college and make him some personalised cups and mugs (perhaps a set of 6 or 4). Or you could try your talents at painting/drawing and create a picture for him that represents an unforgettable moment from your childhoods (like a family holiday). I recommend that you get him something that you created, something that he can relate to and it needn't cost you that amount of money at all.
Make something with you own hands rather than just buy something.

To him it will be priceless
Maybe a big DVD collection! If you know what TV shows he likes buy him a few seasons!! Or get movies that you both like!! Amazon will really hook you up with some good stuff for cheap!! Try to watch them with him and just spend time with him doing that!!
Well I would go with something antique or collectible that he doesn't know he needs.
Like maybe a Tiffany Lamp or silver box, for his desk. Women are very good at adding touches and if that touch was antique or collectible it would show thought, caring, and something he wouldn't buy cause he doesn't know he needs it.
Something heartfelt and personal that only you could do -

You could always make something for him - with pictures of when you were younger a photo album - a video - a slide show

You can start when he was a baby and use pictures up to the present - if you do it in video you can always talk to his friends from the past) and get them to say something to him and even some of his new friends -

If you are doing a scrapbook you can do the same thing with his friends only they could write something about him that they remember something funny or tell-tale ;)

Sometimes its not how much a gift costs its the feeling behind it - it is obvious that you love and adore your brother so in this case I think something that comes from the heart would be the best option - it wont cost much - and you can get craft supplies fairly cheaply and a video or scrap book really the only thing that it will cost is a bit of time on your part - and if you wanted to you could get a photo album and dress it up for a personal touch

and perhaps you could take him out to eat the day of or the day before just to spend some quality time with him and present him with his gift or even hold a surprise party for him
You could have a portrait commissioned ( I do pencil portraits, just let me know, I'll send you a link to my gallery ;) ) It would be very personal and unique.

Not meant as self promotion, honestly the first thing that sprung to mind. Lol
Maybe you can do something special for him. He needs nothing financially but he might have something in his head that needs some help. Or simply, send him a lovely card and thanks for his employment. Your brother doesn't need you to buy more things for him. So, save the money and cook a nice meal or make a delicious cake will properly make him happier.
take him to a strip club, every man loves it

or

place an ad in his newspaper, as how much you look up to him
