Do you know of suze orman and if so what do you think of her?
Answers:
Her early books were really quite good -- but over the last ten years or so, she's just been cranking out books to make the money off of them and not really saying anything new. The mystical approach to finance that she's been taking recently is a little quackish, but not obscenely so.
I read some of her "Money for Women" or whatever her newest book is and it's honestly a little insulting. Money matters are mostly just math -- the psychological and emotional side should be de-emphasized, in my opinion, in order to make smart decisions.
But if Suze Orman convinces someone to live beneath her means, buy her own home, invest in her 401k and set aside a few percent on top of that for a long-term investment, then she's done a good thing. Whatever it takes!

She's cute, but she's wacko.
From a blog:
"Orman sometimes asks audience members to rip a dollar bill in half. Most cringe at the idea, which she claims is due to that fact that money has an energy field that other objects don't have, almost as if money were alive. Besides the more mystical aspects of it, critics also often claim that her advice is too basic for informed or experienced investors, and sometimes contrary to common sense. But despite all that, she has remained popular by tapping into people's insecurities about money and its effect on happiness, relationships, and self-esteem."
Personally I find her style of speaking kinda annoying. I dunno, her tone just bugs me. But I like her message, and she's pretty effective. Her advice is solid and appropriate for the average person. I think she focuses more on attitudes and approaches to money, rather than specific investing strategies. For example, she won't tell you which credit card is best for you, but she will tell you how you should handle credit cards - and credit card debt - in general.
Almost everyone knows about Suze Orman and her TV shows and books.
Anything that helps people HONESTLY save money and organize their finances is a good thing.
Because she is a woman she appeals to average women. Everybody can benefit from her advice.
Of course, she does not specifically recommend specific credit cards, banks, and investment companies because everyone has different needs and backgrounds.
Her general advice is good for people to gain a better understanding of managing their financial needs.
The fact that some of her advice and practices seem "weird" to some people is because a person in the entertainment industry has to make the topic seem a bit more interesting than it really is. She is an entertainer because she does have TV shows and does write books and columns.
She is an acknowledged lesbian. She recently "outed" herself.
