of course no debt collector has a concience its what there paid wages for to recoupe a campanies debts owning , at the end of the month there the only ones with a healty bank blance while debtor struggle irrespective .
It's just a job that has to be done. If there were no bill collectors, alot of people wouldn't pay their bills

Yeah I wonder how they respond if you send a suicide note saying ten more collection calls and no need to send the hit man, cuz you check out yourself. Maybe they should ease off a bit. I wonder if the paper will list dept. collection as the cause of death.
I think that's really sad, I mean..these poor people don't want to live like this. I know that it's very very easy to get behind. It happened to me with medical bills, it's not like I was out buying extravagant things or living carelessly. Debt is a horrible thing, and personally I'd just assume we go back to bartering.
No it would seam that they give you all the money you can spend and then give you hassle for spending what they give you? Its a crazy world we live in. Its simple if they want there money then don't let people spend over there limit, oh but hang on then they cant charge in fee's can they??
Yes, a close personal family member is a kind of debt collector, however they remove the personal side as they have to. It's a job, they have targets to meet. It does bother them a lot, but they offer councelling to people who can't pay and also work out their finances for them.
It's disgusting the way some harrass people. I think changing your phone number helps, and also, writing a letter offering a sum each week, if they don't like it tough, they can't take you to court for making an effort to pay.

I watched a programme on bbc about debt collecting. Its scary the lengths some of these people go to for the money, intimedating old ladies to pay debt that is their kids and threatening to remove things from her house, they even convinced the police that they had the right to do this, Scary Stuff!
LOL they're ruthless. they don't care about you or your personal / financial situations. they just want money.
You have to remember that debt is the worst crime that you can commit in Capitalist society, you are only there to make someone else richer and if you don't pay up you won't do that. In this society, nothing is more valuable than MONEY....not even Life!
Bill collectors are nasty people. Unfortunately they are in a business brought on by people who don't pay their bills. There are three kinds of deadbeats. Those who don't mind stealing from someone if they can get away with it. Those who are down on their luck through no fault of their own. Those who are poor with money and while they can't pay, they would if they had money. Nasty bill collectors are not interested in the reason the bills are not paid, they are only interested in getting paid because that is their job.

I have no sympathy for people in debt, if you don't want to be in debt, don't borrow things that you can't pay-back.
The thing is.a debt collector can only collect a debt that was owed to someone else and given over to his company to collect IF the debtor signs the little piece of paper the collector has.otherwise he has no legal right to harrass u for money. SO the bottom line is.never sign their little pieces of paper lol
Many debt collectors are actually demanding money with menaces - and the company or them can be fined £1,000 or worse. I had a debt collection agency harass me and then I got a solicitors letter. I wrote to the solicitor explaining that the fine for a solicitor demanding money with menaces was £2,000 or worse - and they should advise their clients better. the debt collector and solicitor dropped that client like a hot brick - haven't heard any more from them! lol Incidentally, they were also guilty of conspiracy to demand money with menaces - prison for that one.. The law book they were after the money for came in handy - I kept it in the end.
Scum of the earth, you only had to watch the recent documentary on Tv to see that these people are pond life.
