You should ask your employer. Typically, you will get a set amount of sick days and a set amount of vacation days, plus perhaps additional holidays off, all paid. Additional days off may be taken without pay.
Excessive absenteeism is a valid reason for being fired.
If you work more than you supposed to sometimes you get same pay, why wouldn't it go the other way?
