Can a baliff seize goods if the person who incurred the debt does not live at the address?

a previous lodger did not pay a parking fine and now baliffs are coming to seize MY goods up to a value of £350... are they allowed to. i am really worried

Answers:
No they can't. they can only seize goods belonging to the debtor.

The same happened to me. The bailiff knocked on the door and asked for the previous occupant by name. I told him that person didn't live there anymore and i didn't know where they had moved to. He thanked me and apologized for having disturbed me and went away and I heard nothing more.

So you have nothing to fear . Why do you say the Bailiffs are coming to seize your goods?
this is a touchy subject..usually... the seizure or confiscation of any goods has to do with the address and not the individual person! if the seizure has to do with a said address...you may have a problem especially if a warrant has been posted!! you may want to make a phone call to the acting precinct or office to state your case and it is possible that they may let you extract your items but there is no guaranty especially if the seizure is primarily directed to a certain address
