You can ask for an extension from your car loan. This is truly a hardship and they can defer payments for up to 2 months, sometimes twice a year. Call them and explain your situation. Hopefully, after 2 months, you'll be on your feet.
Contact your local place of worship for additional help.

have you tried the local red cross that deals with disasters in your area they help a lot of people get the needs to get by on and offer housing programs as well
I dont know how big of a city you live in but where i live we have benift fish fries all the time for things like that and people here about them and go donate money and buy fod and it all goes to the famil in need. you can raise alot of money like that!! I am so sorry for your lose. If you cannot do the benifit dinner go to the damn government its about time they did something for the people!! Go to social serivces or something
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This must be a very difficult time for you and your family. I'm sure there must be a Help Center in a town near you, I know it may be unsettling to use those services, but now would be the time that you should. Also, go to Social Services and apply for everything that you can: food assistance, cash assistance, even medical assistance. It's a lot of paperwork but you may be surprised what you qualify for.
