How can I cancel a cashier's check and how long does it take to cancel?

I have lost a cashier's check to which I need to pay someone $25,000, but lost the cashier's check. I cannot find it anywhere. How do I go about canceling it and provide a new cashier's check to this individual, who understandably, is getting very inpatient.

go immediately to the business that issued it, and ask them how to do it. they may require a couple months of waiting before they will cancel it.

You need to go to the bank where it was issued. There are differnet procedures, but at the bank i work at it can take up to 90 days to get your money credited back adn also 90 days before we are allowed to put the stop payment on the check.

go to the bank or c.u. (i'm assuming you got it from a financial institution) they will determine if it has, in fact, not been cashed then they will put a stop payment on it and re-issue you the funds. usually relatively quickly.
