If i have unpaid bills from the collection agency from uk & move to US will it show on my credit report ?
Answers:
No, not on the US ones. When I moved from the Netherlands to the US the bank told me they were not interested in my credit history in the Netherlands, they only look at what's provided by the big 3 credit bureaus in the US (Experian, Equifax and Transunion).
Now that doesn't mean that you will get credit immediately after you move (credit cards, loans, morgage), because you don't have a credit history (in the US). So to get a credit history get yourself a secured credit card. That's a credit card where you first put an amount in a savings account with the same bank (could be as low as $300), and that amount is your credit limit, it's not really a credit card, you use it to build the credit history. Charge something to the credit card every month and pay your bill on time and in 6-12 months you should have enough credit history to get a real credit card and other loans.
