Alternatives to document shredding to dispose in bulk?

Need a quicker way dispose of old but confidential documents than standard paper shredder. Are there chemicals one can soak the docs in bulk so that after some time they are rendered to pulp?

Answer:
There are shredding services that can help you when your volume exceeds a deskside shredder. As a bonus they also recycle everything after it is shredded.
Forsoothe! If the old sheet by sheet manner seems tedious, wait till you apply for a bulk soaking permit.
There are professional shredders. If you lot is too small for them, try linking up w/ a physician's office/insurance office to buy a few baskets of their space with a professional contractor.
Are the papers personal or business related. Because if they are from your work you can possibly get your company to contract a
shredding company, all you have to do is put the confidential papers in the shred company delivered bin and they come and pick it up and shred papers.
There is a reason so many people shredd. Get a bigger badder shredder. There are some chemical options but you need some hazmat gear and training and safety protocalls that are all very expensive. Then the epa is always comming around and expecting expensive up grades cause what was ok 3 months ago is not ok now. Get a shredder with some more horse power. Its much cheaper and simpler. By the way what were you planning to do with all that pulp? You can't just put that in the land fill you know. It will still have the chemical crap in it and that will contaminate ground water. You need a hazmat disposal system for that.bigger shredder is cheaper.
