You have to take calculated risks. The bigger the risk, the bigger the return. It's that simple. You can do this in business, or real estate, or securities. It doesn't matter.
The common ingredient among people who have made a lot of money in a short period of time is their assessment of risk and their willingness to take it.
It's not going to be easy, though. If it were, everyone would be rich! Obviously, everyone is not. And for every person who takes a big risk and succeeds, there are probably 100,000 who took a similar risk and failed. That's why the few who assess risk well make so much money - because so many other people don't.
You should look into one of three things:
1) Start your own business
2) Become a trader on a stock/futures exchange
3) Get involved in real estate
They all involve risk, but they can also make you a lot of money if you do them well...

You should save as much as you can until you can start your own business. thae business can become your cash cow (if you choose correctly) and you'll be blinging before you know it. :) Just work your butt off.
You need to go to Toastmasters International and learn to speak professionally. Groom yourself as though you are rich. Learn to be a gentleman, proper english and manners.
Impress a rich girl whose father will set you up.
The path to success is measured by the kind of people you associate with.
Learn the fine points of salesmanship. Making money is all about how much will pass through your hands.
Real estate is the best overall investment. Learn how to own real estate rental property.
Their are so much things that you can do today to make money. My best advice is to start off with something you enjoy doing. You can build a business around your passion or interest.
If you like computers, maybe you would be interested in owning your computer store or being a computer consultant. When you build your business around what you love, work is almost like play.
If you want to be wealthy, the most common path is starting your own business. Even if you do not have a million dollar idea right now, start some small business now. The experiences on a smaller scale will help you when you have a bigger idea and the stakes are higher.

the only way to get rich that fast is to win the money or have someone give it to you, like an inheritance. in 10 years you can become wealthy if you work hard at it, but rich might be stretching it. ask any small business owner how far they went in their first 10 years to get a better picture.
i would say, find a professional field that pays well that you are interested in, go to college, get a degree for it, get an internship to get some experience, and start climbing the corporate ladder.
