Any Get Out Of Debt Ideas?

I got a lot of bad crap on my credit report. A lot of stuff that got out of hand. My two credit cards aren't out of control, and they have small balences. Most of my debt is from severely past due bills that I got while I was sick and could not work. Are there any agencies or banks that do loans for people that don't have credit card debt but do have debt that keeps them from getting things like a better rate on a car loan or student loan app??

Answer:
I'm in the same boat. I finally just came to terms with it, I got in this mess one bill at a time, I'm gonna get out of it one bill at a time.

The trick is not look at the big mountain, just look at the first ledge you can reach, and then start climbing.
Depends on how much. Under $2000 and you might be able to get an unsecured loan.

More than that, and you are too much of a risk. You'll need to contact the companies directly and either settle for less than full and pay them off, or set up payment plans. Good luck!
No matter what kind of debt you have, Consumer Credit Counseling can help you get out. They do not mess with mortgages, but any other kind of debt. They are a non-profit organization. They educate people on how to manage their debt, and they take all your bills and pay them for you each month. You pay a monthly fee for this service which is less than a late charge on a credit card. They call the creditors and get them to lower the interest rates considerably, and waive any late fees. You agree to close all your credit card accounts. You can pay it off early, or any time you want to, if you come into some extra money later. It's the best way to get out of debt for good.
