Can I set up a UK student bank account from Ireland?

Answer:
YES, email me at: maxnit@yahoo.com
Most Irish banks have a UK counterpart so yes
Not sure how it works now though that Ireland uses the Euro
Should not be a problem
UK banking laws are different from Irish banking laws. Most UK banks require proof of at least 6 months residency in the UK and that you will be in the UK for at least a further 6 months before they allow you to open an account. However, I am uncertain what the rules say governing Irish citizens wanting UK bank accounts given the treaties and agreements signed between the two countries. Speak to the UK Big 5 banks (Barclays, Lloyds, HSBS, RBOS, HBOS). Altnatively, speak to the one of the Northern Ireland banks.
