Why don't I ever seem to get new, crisp banknotes ?

Could it be that the governmemt wishes to discourage people from useing cash ? The filthy state of most notes are an insult to the Queen.

Answer:
Well..old money, that is, money that doesn't pass a banks counters QC are sent to be burned. Totals of these bad bills are formulated with anti integer to balance for inflation and a certain ammount of new bills are made. Keep in mind though that a lot of newer bills (i.e 5's, 10's, 20's, etc.) were just put out b/c of the new security features on them. These bills were also designed to last longer, so less new bills are being printed. However, if you want new bills (ones are the easiest to get b/c that bill cannot change due to a bill that was passed) go to the bank on Monday morning.
i have got them a few times.
I never thought about it but you are right. These days you hardly get new notes. It used to be that most of the money you get from cash machines was new but now it always seems to be tatty!
Maybe they are making less notes bacause most people use credit and debit cards!
You don't make them yourself
who cares if it as an insult to that old money grabbing leech
The Queen isn't on our notes in Scotland, and the government doesn't issue them, but there are a few grubbies.
If you don't want the dirty ones you can give them to me
Use a cash point most notes are brand new
try asking in the bank
country is getting poor.
