I have a problem. I think. Well a few weeks ago, back about April 30 or so,?

I spent $60 to go to the Dr. (and imagine that was 50%) Well, anyway, I paid with my debit card and I have the receipt. The problem is that it has never gone through my checking account. It was never taken out.
So now I'm not sure if I should call the Dr, call the bank or leave it alone.
If I use the extra money, then you watch it go through and I'll be over drawn at the bank.
any advice?

Answers:
Credit card deposits usually post within 48-72 hours.

They may have had an issue with their machine and could not settle the credit cards to their bank.

Call the office and find out if they show you as paid for that amount. They may just bill you the amount instead of running your card.

If they try to charge you 30 days later, you can dispute the charges with your bank. Visa has some strict rules about that kind of thing.

Being honest will help your Karma...

But if you really need that $60...
If it was April 30 then I would wait until I got the May statement. It might not have gotten processed until May. Don't spend the money because it will probably go through.
If you want to do the right thing, simply call the Doctor's office and explain. They can file a correction with their processor. Then, your mind will be at ease.
These are double sided personal finance and moral questions.
YOU have to answer the ethical side yourself. WE can answer the other. Leave enough money in the bank account to cover the $60 for a long period of time, at least a couple of statements, and say nothing. This problem over time will resolve itself.
I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. You could always call to double check, but sometimes places with few card transactions will not run the cards until they have a sufficient number of them or a time frame since the last time it was done whichever comes first. So it's possible this place only runs the cards through every month.

You are right though, this can be a pain and lead to some problems.
