I've thought about lending money there but didn't because I didn't think it was worth the risk.

Example: You lend $1,000 to 20 different people at an average interest rate of 10%. 2 of those people default. Is it worth the risk to you? You would still get your $1,000 back but gain nothing over 3 years...
