What does $13.00 base-appt mean?

I got something in the mail about a summer job then they start telling me about it : flexible schedules $13.00 base-appt. what does $13.00 base-appt mean?

I've seen this posted on numerous job openings. It means that you will receive 13.00 for every appointment that you set. Say for instance your selling knives to neighbors, if you set an appointment with them to show them the knives you you recieve 13.00.
The job is sales. You will make 13/hr no matter what, if you get some sales, you will get an extra bit of money per hour depending on how much you sold.

careful with those sales jobs.
Probably a job selling stuff...going to people's homes..you get 12.00 per appt with people...
lol i hope its not vector or you having to sell knives. 13.00 means that no matter what you will get paid that per hour but if you make sells you will also get commission.
It means you dont want that job. also it means you get $13 for every Appointment you do. Prob. selling something(Knives maybe?) anyways dont do it. i speak from experience.
