There are more than three, but the biggies are NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX.

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and American Stock Exchange (AmEx) are the big national exchanges. There are several regional exchanges -- including The Philadelphia Stock Exchange and the Pacific Stock Exchange (in SF).

NASDAQ isn't really a physical exchange -- but a network of dealers.
