How can i trade options in chicago board options exchange from india?

if i buy a put for infy, does it act as a 'hedge' for infy holdings in NASDAQ? please clarify whether i need to hold a income tax card of the US to buy options.

Answers:
I don't believe you need tax registration in US to trade US options. I think your best bet is to talk to a broker who can trade on US exchanges, and find out what the requirements are. If you have access to Scottrade or TD Ameritrade, those are two options. There are many other brokers who trade on US markets.

Yes, if you own shares of infy or any other company, and then buy 'puts' (which are bets on the stock price going down), then you have hedged your position.
