Does anyone know about some good index funds with exposure to the emerging economies?

Looking for something to put in an IRA, don't know an awful lot about investments tho. Want something that will include pacific rim countries, brazil, phillipines china, india. Any ideas?

The index funds that most closely matches your criteria are ADRE and VWO

Here are links to both.

A newer index fund without a track record is GMM. Been available only since March.

There are also many mutual funds that also invest in emerging economies.
look up the vanguard family. they have mutual funds for all situations...merging markets in all continents and countries
I have 2 Foreign Funds

JAOSX - Janus Overseas Fund
and
HLEMX - HARDING LOEVNER EMERGING MARKETS

Both are strong foriegn market investments.

Janus has netted me 25% since Sept 06 and Harding has done about 22%.

If you have a Schwab account, they are considered No-Load Funds which means there is no Broker fees as long as you don't sell in 90 days.

They both invest worldwide.

If you don't have an IRA, I strongly suggest Schwab. They are easy to use, provide consulting and have loads of helpful info.

Good luck
