What is a 403k?

i know of 401k but my job now has the 403 how is it different?

Answer:
403(b) is the same as 401(k), it's just that non-profit organizations (like eg universities) have it.
Basically, a 403b is for non-profit organizations. Always go for the 403b7, which saves you more money in the long run.
First of all, it's 403(b), not 403(k). A 403(b) plan is similar to a 401(k) plan, only it is put together by a non-profit (401(k) plans are organized by for-profit businesses).
