I"m changing jobs and i'm not sure what to roll my 401k into?

Answer:
This depends on your new job retirement plan and what you want to do with it. If you have a 401k at both places I would roll it from one to the other. I do not know how the fees you pay are structured. You will probably pay less in management fees if roll it.

You may also want to consider setting up an IRA and doing a direct roll over into this account.

Or you may want to just leave it.

Under no circumstance should you take a direct distribution and then deposit it into an IRA. Always do the direct roll over.
if your not sure let it stay were it is. When u start your new job roll it over into their 401k.
Roll into Rollover IRA within the 60 days of the day you change your job or if your new employer offer 401k with good option of choice for investing, roll directly to 401k of your new jobs
Most jobs let you keep your 401k with them. You should ask if your job has this policy and keep it there until you are really sure where you want to roll it over.
Try contacting Primerica Financial Services. Their services are free and they will give you a complimentary Financial Needs Analysis. You will also have your own personal agent (face-to face if desired) The FNA will give you information that is specific to your situation in life and based on what you want to achieve (ie, debt-freedom, children's education, financial independence, etc). They are listed in the phone book and also have a website. Good Luck.
An IRA usually allows you more flexibility and control of your money than a 401k, except that you can take loans against a 401k but not an IRA. Be sure to do a direct rollover if you go this way.

Fidelity has some very low cost index funds, great stuff.
