The old adage rings true, buy on the rumor, sell on the news.
I would have bought while Howard was pushing it, and sold the day he got on the air.
There is still a lot of growth potential, but they are paying a lot for programming.
Lets see what Oprah does for XM.
I would buy oil shale stocks or plutonium/uranium stocks right now. Not sirius.
I've owned Sirius stock for about two-years now, and I purchased the stock when it was at about 4.5. It does seem pretty cheap, however, there are many opinions why the stock has not sky-rocketed. One is Sirius is facing serious lawsuits regarding copyrights and intellectual property and Sirius has paid mega bucks to intice big stars like Howard Stern over to satellite. Check out some investor sites to see what other feedback you can find before investing. I however, am going to hold onto my 70-shares.
I am a current Sirius subscriber and a past shareholder. As a service, Sirius is great. As a stock it is terrible. The problem with Sirius is that it is constantly diluting shareholder value. They either have secondary stock offerings, or they pay their talent with stock (i.e. Howard Stern).
Issuing stock is a great way for companies to pay bills with going into debt, but it is terrible for shareholders.
