Stock Gurus Plz Tell Me Something Bout 1929 Crash&Others, thx!!?

I wanna know , how many stocks (in other words, listed companies) were there in America in total in 1921, 1929, 1933 respectively? Can somebody give me reliable authorative statistics??

And can somebody tell me something about American stock market history? better in statistics ok?

I need statistics like:
1. when did American stock market start? how many stocks were there at the begining?

2. how many new stocks come into market each year on average?

3. how many stocks were there in American market in 1980, 1990, 2000, 2007, respectively??

I'm asking these figures for good reason,. cuz i'm doing a reach and analysis into something. Plz help me. Thanks.
