What are equity shares?

Answers:
The term equity in this sense means a partial ownership in the enterprise. Equity shares are partial ownership share in a company. To purchase equity shares means that you are purchasing a share in the company. Unfortunately, that equity share gives you next to no say in how the business is run. Most companies are run by a management that is pretty much independent from the owership interest of the company. But nevertheless if you were to be able to accumulate a large enough portion of the equity of the company you could remove the current management and install your own management. Not an easy thing to do however.
Money you put into a company through the purchase of stocks, bonds, etc. to get a profit in return.
