Learning and investing in the stock market.?

Can anyone recommend a site that explains the basics of stock & shares, as well as risks and where to go etc? Thanks

Answers:
For a great introduction to stocks and the stock markets, go to wikipedia and type in "stock markets". For more detailed information regarding specific stocks, Yahoo! has a good finance site http://finance.yahoo.com/ where you can research individual stocks as well as read the latest market news.
Morningstar.com has been a BIG help for me...

I would highly recommend looking into 'mutual funds' or 'index funds'. They provide many advantages over buying and selling individual stocks.

GOOD LUCK!
go to Scottrade.com

You can open an account for only $500. and each trade is only $7.

Here they give you all the tools you need for tracking companies histories to help guide you to buying stock.
Just open a brokerage account at Zecco and invest in the ETF DIA.
