I've found a mislaid Abbey Nat. share certificate. Can I do anything now to change this to Santander shares?

Write to the Registrar. There is a process for identifying you as a shareholder and issuing you with a new share certificate.

If the shares were never reported as lost or stolen, they can still be exchanged. Contact the registrar.
