Is death row more affordable than life in prison?
Answers:
no, amazingly it cost the state more to process the appeals process than to house.
I guess life is cheaper on tax payers because of all of the appeals leading up to an execution.
Affordable to whom ? If you mean the State, then death row is more affordable, 'cause you won't be there forever, and the state will save money.
it's more expensive to put the person through trials and death row than to keep him in prison for life. look it up
Probably yes if u keep the criminal in prison for however many years they have left it would be more expensive to the prison/state than if u just killed them off.
For whom are you speaking? For the convict, this isn't an issue of affordability. If you're speaking for the taxpayer, certainly a shorter prison term is less expensive, even under particularly secure conditions such as death row.
Yes, because you die right away. This way, you don't have to live and eat and all that stuff.
Why on earth is this question in the insurance section?
Yes!! Thats why I say fry them!!
death row actually saves tax dollars.
yes it's cheaper..here in America death row inmates don't have to worry that much about the death penalty. we have become to civilize to punish the warp minded sex offenders for raping and killing our children. our justice system is everything but justice. i think that when one is found guilty and sentence to death, then they have 60 days to appeal. when all the appeals is completed, then they die the next day...sounds cruel? it would but an end to a 20 yr Wait on death row for murder or molesting our children. so it's not the point on what is the cheapest way...its the right way. then more of these bastards would think twice before committing these crimes.
I believe on average it costs tax payers about $35k per year to house an inmate. I doubt the electric bill will be that high.
