After a patient's co-pay, how much does the average health insurance pay for a normal doctor visit?

is it about the same for all general check-ups? Specifficaly, how much do average health insurances pay when a patient goes in just to inquire about a drug that they have heard about?

Answer:
The average HMO doctor makes $27 a month from a patient. It's a flat fee, if the patient goes in 17 times, or not at all.

The average PPO makes $23 for a short office visit, like a drug consult. $32 for a healthy adult physical, which takes more time.
80% of office visit charge, for a 20%. Average copay is 20- 25%
Depends on the insurance. Some have deductibles that have to be met. Our co-pay is 20.00 and then the insurance covers the rest (although they don't pay the Dr. what we would owe them if we didn't have insurance - they have a discounted rate_) If you are just asking about a specific drug try getting your doctor to call you. If not the doctor's nurse might be just as helpful. Otherwise the cost would be the same as a normal office visit.
