Looking for free appriasal info for my Pearl China co. antique 25th aniver. teaset.?
Answer:
You could do an online search, as if you wanted to BUY it, and see what it sells for. You can print that out and hand it in.
Unless you take out a specific kind of insurance. the only way it will be covered if it get's destroyed is the cost of another teaset (Not antique, like from target or walmart) to replace it as a teaset, not an antique.
Insurance companies don't generally tend to offer coverage on antiques through your home insurance, you have to go to a company that deals with that kind of thing specifically.
You have to tell me what it is made of and how old it is? Teasets that are not ancient or made by a famous maker like Moorcroft or Meisen are not usually worth more than a few hundred dollars.
It is a full tea service? How many pieces? Some old antique and or vintage teasets can be found in pieces in your local thrift store. Only certain things are highly collectable.
Check E-bay and see what they are going for.
Check in the New York City phone book. There some will insure anything but who knows if you will ever get paid.
Do you really need an appraisal?? Most insurance companies do not require an appraisal unless it goes over a specific amount. They usually just want a detailed description and also the amount that you want it insured for. Also, make sure if you are specifically insuring it that you add agreed value.
