I have 3 years experience working in the insurance industry and i don't want to sell insurance. I did that before but i did like working in claims because it gave a chance to help people. I'm trying to find a company that i can grow with and that people like working at. I really would like to be a underwriter for either health insurance or general liablity maybe home insurance. Any help or sharing your experiences would help me. Thanks

Nationwide Insurance.
They have TONS of growth opportunity, locations everywhere, great benefits, great pay and wonderful training.
OK, companies that write health insurance don't write general liability or homeowners.
Most companies won't hire you on as an underwriter unless you have a bachelor's degree.
And when you hire on, it's "personal lines" or "commercial lines", not homeowners.
They're all pretty much the same - either P&C, or Life. But it's hard to get in. You should bug the marketing reps you know, to see if they have any underwriting positions open. It's all going to be about networking - but if you don't have that degree, it's not likely to happen.
MetLife Insurance is a good company to work for...they also have a strong internship program.
