Need recommendation for good out-of-state Homeowner's policy?
I live in RI in my 4-family apartment house. I am finding that most insurance companies do not want to insure out-of-state investment properties so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Answer:
you should find an agent who is licensed in both states and
"package" this policy you'll get a better rate only have to
deal with one agent life will be simpler
Try this Site: http://www.realmoneyideas.com Look in the
MIDDLE of the "Home Page" to see if that company can help
You.
try farmers insurance and state farm look at different web-sites untill you can speak to an agent. they get paid on commission so if someone can write it they will try to speak to someone.
So true. You should try to get a quote with Foremost - they do rentals. www.foremost.com.
The problem is, rental properties are considered the "crap" of the insurance world; an agent doesn't make much money off of it, but there are lots of claims and hassles, so most agents won't write the rental policy without writing some of your "good" insurance lines, like the house you live in, your (non-rental) business, and/or auto policies.
I know some great agencies in MA, but they won't write the stand-alone business, so Foremost really is your best bet.
They have good plans for property insurance & life insurance too, I insured my house thru them,
