What are california's highest and lowest limist of liabilty insurance (auto)?

Answers:
For a personal auto policy, the minimum liability limit is $15,000 per person, $30,000 per accident, and $5,000 for property damage. $5,000 doesn't come CLOSE to paying for repairs for most cars in most accidents these days, so it's definately inadequate.

The maximum amount you can buy would be $250,000 per person, $500,000 per accident, $100,000 property damage, OR $500,000 combined single limit. HOWEVER. If you want MORE coverage than that, you can ALWAYS buy a personal umbrella liability policy, in increments of $1,000,000, up to $5,000,000 easily, and up to $10,000,000 with a small amount of effort.
I believe the minimum liability is still $35,000 (that was a few years ago), and the highest I've been able to find is $500,000 (per occurrence). I've asked several insurance companies if they offer a higher limit and was not able to find a higher liability limit. Instead, they all suggested and offered an umbrella [liability] policy. I hope this helps.
The minimum limits are $15,000 per person $30,000 per occurrence, and $5,000 for property damage. The maximum depends on the insurance company, it can go up to $500,000/$500,000 and $500,000 for property damage, or some companies even go up to $1 million limits.
Minimum limits are $15/$30/$5K. That's $15K/person, $30K/accident, and $5K for property damage. As for maximums, you can purchase umbrella policies up to a couple of million. Usually you would need to purchase a policy of $250K/$500K/$250K, and also have a Homeowner's policy, to purchase an Umbrella policy.
